The Gratitude Challenge Kickoff

For the next month I've decided to embark on a gratitude challenge. November seems like a fitting month to start with given that Thanksgiving is the holiday that is central to the theme. You'll be getting a weekly recap from me about the things I'm grateful for each day that week.

I'm hoping to really dig into what matters to me most and use this month as a time to give thanks. On a daily basis I'm grateful for a lot of things, but I think this challenge will teach me about externalizing all the things that may fly through my mind on a daily basis.

I find (especially lately) that the daily grind can make me feel like I'm in a rat race. IT. IS. EXHAUSTING. I fly through life trying to either just keep up or get through the end of the day and sometimes I do all that without taking the time to truly appreciate all that I have, all that I've done, or all that I've been present for. I'm hoping this challenge will help teach me to take a breath and be mindful of all the things that I should be grateful for each and every day.

So today, I'm grateful for coffee. That's right coffee. It's the little things, right? Today it's coffee because of my late night with trick or treating with my beloved family and friends on Halloween last night. There was nothing more indulgent than smelling the flavored coffee that I made this morning and every morning for that matter. It is something that I take for granted that I need to take the time to appreciate. Today, coffee saved my morning and helped get me through the day (even when I almost left it at home).

I hope you'll embark on the daily gratitude challenge too! #gratitudechallenge
