When your treat plays a trick on you
You know when your kid has a rash and you have no idea what it is and you start Googling rashes? C'mon, you've all done it. My Google search history is full of kid related questions and rashes are definitely one of them. Sometimes though a rash isn't actually a rash, but something very different.
A few weeks ago I received what I interpreted as a frantic text from my mother-in-law concerning a red rash on Caitiejane's leg. It read:
Immediately after receiving this text I got a bunch of photos of my daughter's leg. I could tell that my mother-in-law was concerned. I mean she sent photos of this rash from every angle. I guess she thought one would lead to the magical answer of an exact match on Google.
When I got the text message I started laughing. The "rash" that my mother-in-law was panicked about wasn't a rash at all. I immediately let her know that last night Caitiejane had eaten Jell-O with her dinner and dropped some in her high chair in the seat and the proceeded to melt it with her leg. The Jell-O has melted through her clothes and stained her leg. I had attempted to clean the Jell-O off her, but it was late and Caitiejane wasn't getting a bath that night.
I got a good laugh and my mother-in-law was relieved.
Jell-O... the trick from a treat.
