Why I Love Photos

If my house was on fire and I could only grab one thing, I would grab my photos. They mean everything to me! Luckily, these days we store most of our photos online, so they are never lost. Still, there are paper albums I have that mean a lot to me too. Here's why.

Sweet Emotion

I love capturing memories using photos. When you look back at an old photo you are suddenly flooded with emotion about that day. It may have been a wonderful day, or a very said day, or a surprising day, but chances are you feel something about that day. Whether the emotion is happy or sad you have a feeling that takes you back to that moment.

Forever in Pictures

Photos will stand the test of time. In the same way that we can watch old movies, we can also view old photographs of our family and friends. We can see what people were doing, how they lived, and glimpse into their world just for a moment. Photos are immortal!

Everyday Life

Photos to me are just as much about capturing everyday life as it is to commemorate special moments. That's why I keep a daily photo journal. It shows the milestone moments, joyous times, and trying ones. To see my daily photo journal last year visit the link here!  While you're there check out the podcast Life As We Know It that I host with my brother, Scott.

I mention photos this week because I was recently able to capture a nice gender reveal photo for our newest addition. Precious CaitieJane Marie will be making her debut some time in May 2016 and I felt so excited to commemorate finding out the sex of our baby with a photo. While my dear husband Jerry doesn't always understand my madness or need to capture photos, he tolerated me. For this, I am incredibly grateful! Here's a few photos from our shoot! Which both make me so happy and so grateful that I will have these FOREVER!
