Yesterday we were driving back from a family reunion and all three kids were asleep in the car. I could have gone off to sleep myself, but instead took a moment to share something that goes through my head all the time. I turned to Jerry and asked, “Do you ever feel like you’re just running through life?” After being away with the kids in a hotel I was tired to say the least.
This loving man said to me, “Sure, when I’m at work I feel like I’m running, but when I’m with you I enjoy it and time slows down.”
He went on to say that although the kids can sometimes make us crazy that it’s these moments that he lives for. Just me and the kids. He wouldn’t trade this life for anything.
I couldn’t ask for a better husband, or father for our kids. This man keeps me sane, has wisdom when I need it most, and loves all of us unconditionally.
There are so many qualities he has that are the exact opposite of me. I'm super calculated and always thinking 5 steps ahead. It can be exhausting, but he goes with the flow. While it can sometimes make me crazy, his spontaneity and ability to live in the moment is exactly what we all need from time to time.
I couldn’t ask for a better person to do life with. Happy Father’s Day Jerry! Our kids are so lucky to have you! And me too!!
