I had an event that I needed hotel space for, so I put it out to bid. We went through the typical process of reviewing the proposals and completed site tours. After our site tour with a particular hotel I received an email thanking me for my visit. These emails are typical from our sales partners, but this one struck me as creative and fun, which was definitely something to remember.
The email contained standard thank you text, but as an added feature there was a video attached to the email. What a treat! Our sales representative had created a video on his phone and attached the video to his email. He thanked us for visiting and reminded us of all the reasons his hotel would be a great fit for our program. He even showed us a space on the video that he was unable to showcase during our visit because another group was using it. He really went the extra mile!
If the event staff is as attentive as the sales representative was, I anticipate that we will have a long standing relationship with this property for years to come.
What struck me is both the creativity and the simplicity of it. It's such a simple and easy thing to do these days. We all have video cameras in our pockets! Why not give a personal thank you to your clients for visiting, or for their continued business? I hope to put this one in my toolkit to use for my clients in the future too!
